catching up...

WHEW! I suppose if I quit sleeping I'd have more time! HA! I don't think so! I need as much of that as I can get, anymore. Anyway....here's a recap of the week!
Monday, I 'worked' at the store. It was pretty busy, but, I got alot of the little 3x3 cards done again. I love them!
Tuesday, I went to Show Low and got a bunch of shopping done for the weekend camping trip *HA!* and home stock ups. I also priced my glasses at Walmart. GRRRRR Needless to say, I won't be going to my eye dr. again...I could have saved about half what I paid at the eye dr. Then, I talked to one of my favorite AVON couples and they told me how much they just paid for their glasses in Mexico, where they go all the time *as a matter of fact, I had her get me some of my generic rosacea meds there for about $15...I pay $75 for the generic..and $150 for the name brand!*..... She got basically the same glasses I did *different frame* and only paid $125~~~ AND, they were ready in 2 hours! When I got back to town, I stopped at Safeway for my green chile meat and then, onto Basha's for the green chile. My Avon order was here, so, I got that packaged and ready to deliver.
Wednesday, I made a roaster-ful *half batch* of green chile from the old El Taco recipe..mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...got a happy freezer now! It made 12 containers. I did laundry all morning, and hung it all out to dry. ---gotta love those fresh sheets!--- Then, I delivered Avon most of the afternoon. Since I had 5 extra pounds of hamburger *they packaged too much for me*, I made a huge batch of spaghetti for supper.....my freezer is 'REALLY' happy!
Thursday, hubby got me up when he was leaving for work at 5. The irrigation ditch had overflowed and we had a river in our yard! SCARY!!! I had to call around to find the ditch master and finally just called the police department. After about TWO HOURS, the city water guy got it diverted. What a mess!!! We don't even take the irrigation water, so, this really pisses us off when this happens! The last time it happened it tore the front landscaped rocks all up and pretty much plugged the culvert under the driveway. We still need to get all that fixed up yet! --- So, then, it started raining!!! In MAY!!! My yard was already saturated! I was just hoping and praying the wind didn't get as bad as the days before...61 MPH! I was worried the wind would play havoc with the big trees and our security fence with the ground so wet. It was windy and rainy, but, not as windy as it had been before..thank goodness! Then, it SNOWED!!!! IN MAY!!! OH * MY * GOSH!!! We ended up with about 5 inches that stuck! And, it was COLD!! So.....no camping for us! Wouldn't you know it! Hubby had 4 straight days off, too! We pretty much stayed inside Friday and Saturday. I did make cinnamon rolls, since the weather was perfect for them!
Saturday was #2 son's birthday....he is 23 now....sigh....Didn't get a hold of him to tell him happy birthday. He must have been busy or gallivanting off somewhere. I did 3 loads of laundry and hung them out, made chocolate chip cookies and we BBQ'd steaks, then, I watched 'Knocked Up' on HBO..cute movie, but, the language makes me gag in movies nowadays! Can't ANYBODY not say the 'F' word anymore???
Sunday, it was #1 son's birthday..he turned 27!!! BIG SIGH!!! How did this happen!? He had the flu from Friday on and wasn't feeling too great, but, we did take him out for supper...poor guy only ate a few bites and got a doggy bag..his stomach shrunk and it just didn't hit the spot. I started crocheting my lil dresses again. I think I'm going to try to sell them to help pay for a cruise for Chris and I.
Today, hubby and I went over to MIL's house and I scrubbed the linoleum floors in the kitchen and bathroom..we've got to get things out of there since, we've decided to go ahead and sell it....ugh, what a chore that all is going to be. After I was done with that, hubby and I and Dozer, took off for a picnic. It was great! Here's a link to some pictures I took! PICNIC PICTURES Please leave me some comments.
Well, the fresh are and all the walking hubby made me do....besides, the workout on the 4-wheeler on the rocky trails...has wore me out! Time for bed. I need to get up early and get a few things done before my work day tomorrow.
Count your blessings...

Pink Gold

yep, I am wearing PINK GOLD!!!! I picked up my new glasses (yes, they are kind of an\ metallic pink with some bling *little rhinestones* this afternoon....$854!! (And, that was with the eye exam AND $130 in discounts!) I guess I'll take my presciption around and see what it would have cost elsewhere. I'm very happy with the glasses, but, DAH---UMMMM. I hope my eyes hold out for at least 5 years...they are still changing and my astigmatism really got bad this last time. We are hoping they start leveling out soon. ~sigh~
It was overcast most of the day, and it was hard to tell if it was going to rain or not. It did a lil bit, but, just enough to mess the dust up on the cars. I did a couple loads of rugs and ended up throwing them in the dryer. I made a batch of yummy cinnamon rolls..the weather just called for them! I had to go get some dogfood at Safeway and ended up buying frozen pizza for supper. I couldn't pass up the Verdi self-rising Ham & Pineapple for $2.99!!! I bought 2, so, since I had the oven on for the cinnamon rolls, we had them for supper tonight.
My mom had one set of her tests done today...4 1/2 hours worth. She'll get results June 5th, after her next batch of tests. I will go with her for the results, since both of my brothers will be working.
I am planning on taking my friend, Chris, on an Alaskan cruise just as soon as possible. Hubby thought it was a good idea (yeah, since he won't be paying for it! I'll put it on my Avon credit card and work my butt off). I am having a hard time deciding how I'm going to fit it in, tho.... I'll call Chris and we can work the timing and details out.
We are hoping to be able to go camping next weekend. YIPPEE, we can take the new lil trailer!! I've been making my list of groceries and what not. I stocked it up pretty good last summer. We'll keep stuff in the fridge out there for the summer, so, some things won't have to be re-bought or replaced yet. I'm sooooo excited to get out in the forest! The streams should all be running and hopefully, no fear of fires yet. I'm trying to talk #1 son into going with us. I think we need to make some new memories.
I am working at the scrapbook store tomorrow til the owner gets back from the early showing of NARNIA with her son. Hubby's welding department just got their workshift all changed around, so, he got off at 8 hours today, and has Friday and Saturday off. That means he'll have 4 days off for Memorial Day weekend.
Hubby and #1 son went to the pool tournament tonight, so, I have the house to myself. I guess I will go watch LOST in a few minutes.
count your blessings...

Good Morning!

Well, I just had a short night! ACK It's gonna be a looooooong day -- hope I get a nap in this afternoon.... I ended up crawling into bed at 12:41 and was awake before hubby got up at 4:17. I finally got up at 5:15 when he left....

It's a bit foggy out there and I'm lovin' it! I LOVE the weather changes...I'm sorry, but, sometimes, I just get sick of the sun shining all the time. *grin* Some moisture would be a good thing around here, but, I haven't even paid attention to the weather much lately.

I got some info on this in an email yesterday.....
57 states
Whatever..... *if you don't have anything nice to say--dont' say anything at all*

I never mentioned the latest on my friend, Chris, in Washington. Her cancer is back and aggressive. She figures she will have 6 good months left, then, the pain and all it entails will return.... I get numb just thinking about it all. I just want to bawl my eyes out. It really upsets me that someone so full of life like Chris, is taken so early, and with such a fate. Then, you have people like my Mother-in-Law and Dad, who basically were 'done' for the past 20 years, in their opinion.... It finally came to me *thank you Lord*, that Chris had used it all up. She was so full of life and did alot of different things in her life...she did what God wants us to do with our lives. Please say some prayers for my friend....

count your blessings...

I suck at blogging.....

Dang! I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted anything.....
I have been really busy again and put posting off til the end of the day, and then, I just don't feel like it. *bleck*

Sooooo, since this morning I was AWAKE since about 2 a.m. *and finally got up at 4:30 a.m.*, I guess I'll blog first! (I've slept great everynight since I got back from Willcox...don't know why the yucky sleep is returing....)

I can't remember all the things that I've been doing since I last posted, so, I'm wingin' it....this really bugs me, that I can't remember...ack!

Anyway, here's a pic of the 'cabin' we stayed at in Lakeside last month, for the retreat.

I went back to my mom's again and stayed from Wednesday, the 21, to Sunday, the
25. She had a Dr. visit Thursday, but, she'll need 2 other vistis/tests with the cardiologist before they will give her the results June 5th, letting her know if she is able to withstand the 4-hour surgery. ugh

Hubby went to Show Low last Saturday *I opted to stay home* and I had him call me when he got to Walmarts garden section, so, I could tell him the flowers I'd like him to bring home for the flowerbeds. I mucked out the back flowerbeds and got them all ready----oh! my acking WHOLE BODY! I am getting sooo old, it takes me 2 - 3 days to recuperate each time I do that! I planted some flowers in the front flowerbed close to the house so they wouldn't freeze *we are still using the woodstove at night*. I have some for the back flowerbeds that I think I'll plant today. If it looks like it's gonnna get too cold, I'll just cover them for the night. *Something about 'covering the flowerbeds' makes me feel so nurturing! hehehe*

I started working at the scrapbooking store on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10-6, the summer hours. I try to take some projects to work on while I'm there. I am making *copying* the cutest lil tent photo album for the new trailer.
The owners first grandbaby was born early Friday morning, so, I worked Friday afternoon for her. Then, I got a call Saturday, that the baby was in jeapordy, so, I worked yesterday, too. I haven't heard yet, how he's doing. I'll call later on. What a rough way to get started in life...poor lil guy.
Today, I think I'll play with my flowers and trim some of the bushes along the side of the house. I need to clean the windows outside, but, yuck---I hate doing that. It's not just the windows, but, it's taking off the screens and all that mess...but, it makes me feel happy when I have clean windows! *grin*

Guess I'll have another cup of coffee and visit with hubby, since he just got up. hehehe I closed the shades all the way, so, it would be dark in there and he would sleep in...he gets up at 4 a.m. each workday.

count your blessings....
